How To Have A Lucky Day

Before I go any further, please note that this is simply a list of things that turn my bad days into better ones. Make your own luck as you go along ;)

HAPPY FRIDAY! I say this with the utmost enthusiasm because...wow. What a week it has been over here! After this summer, I've learned to take bad days with a side of grace...that is, with patience, deep breaths, and a lot of coffee.

So, I mean, being the resident "Lucky Day" coordinator that I am, I thought, isn't there some formula that can turn the bad days into lucky ones? Well, believe me, it isn't easy. But, friends, with a positive attitude a little bit of sparkle, your entire day can be turned around! Trust.


So, you're having a bad day. It happens. Even the luckiest of people have them, including the Lucky Day blogger herself! So, I've rounded up some of my favorite things that help "cure" those terrible I-just-want-to-go-back-to-bed days.

Have a latte...to be thankful for!
Grab a coffee - it's an instant mood boost for me! It makes me feel like I can conquer the rest of my day and reminds me to be thankful of the little things in life. Count your blessings, not your worries!

Stop and smell the peonies.
Flowers are always a day brightener, so go pick some up at the flower market and set them out in a pretty vase. Fresh flowers will surely cheer you up!

Call your best friend.
A quick chat with my best friend always leaves me smiling! My bestie knows me more than I do sometimes, and reminds me to stay sunny even on the gray days.

Go window shopping!
Take a break and do a little retail therapy, even if it's just online and updating your "Shopping" Pinterest board. And, wearing an outfit I love makes such a difference in my attitude. When you look good, you feel good :)

Play your favorite songs.
I like to keep a playlist updated with my favorite cheery songs. Put in your headphones for a minute and take a deep breath. Turn it up and clear your mind!

Get a mani/pedi.
I remember when I got reallllllly stressed about a final project in college. I was getting nowhere after a semester of procrastination (oops). After I handed it in, I treated myself to a pedicure and I felt ten times better! A new coat of nail polish makes me feel like my life is (somewhat) together.

Remember, it's not a bad life, just a bad day!
I can't help but think of Cher from Clueless after she failed her driving test. As if! Bad days are just a reminder of how appreciative we should be of the really good days. I'm really bad about this (I'll admit,  I can be a total Negative Nancy), but keeping a sense of optimism never hurt. It's all about perspective!
