Since I was a kid, I've always been a little different. In school, I floated friend groups because I never really quite fit in. I never liked going along with the crowd, to be honest. I like doing things my way.

You see, unconventional is what I do best. I went to three different high schools, graduated college in three years and now am trying to get my life together as a 21 year old. It's fine. No one is really surprised. I was the overachiever, voted "Most Intelligent," and accepted a bid from the "smart" sorority on campus. This pattern never made me one of the "cool kids," obviously, and I was okay with that.

This is me in my natural habitat, being a weirdo at Disney World in a flower crown and laughing at ?? Idk.
After years of thinking that something was wrong with me for not liking what everyone else did, I realized a very important thing. Being an individual takes courage. Fitting in is easy. Going along with whatever everyone else is doing is easy. The moment you don't want to do that? It gets hard because unfortunately, not everyone accepts what is different.

Truth is, everyone is a little bit odd. We all have different interests, tastes and hobbies. That's fun. Cool, even. What's not cool is pretending not to like those things that you like to be accepted by other people. Embrace what makes you YOU! That was totally Dr. Seuss of me, but it's law, basically.

Even if you think you're the only one in the world that likes eating plain pasta, you're wrong. Because, I like eating plain pasta and so does my best friend. I met her in college. Luckily, she's just as weird as I am, and we happily eat our plain pasta and watch DVDs from the $5 movie section at Target in our free time. We've accepted our differences and think they're neato. That's all that matters.

What I'm trying to say is this: different is good. Grand, even. Embrace it. Pretending to like things to fit in might work now, but eventually, it becomes exhausting trying to be someone you're not. Do you, boo. Forget about what others think because in the end, it really doesn't matter.

Krass & Co. Bows Before Bros shorts (c/o) // Krass & Co. Anchors Aweigh shorts (c/o)

I've raved about these several times on my Insta and blog, but I'm still not over Krass & Co. shorts! I live in them, and that is not an understatement. In college, they took me from my AM classes to afternoon Pilates. Now that I'm a post-grad, I love to wear them while I'm running errands, traveling, or just chilling out.

They're an overized pocket tee's best friend, but they look cute with workout wear and sweatshirts too. As a former norts (Nike shorts) devotee, I'm proud to have made the switch to the much cuter, comfier, and preppier Krass & Co. shorts - and I'm not going back. The material is stretchy and soft, and I can't get over all the adorable things on the sides of the shorts!

And for the sorority sisters out there, they just released a Greek line! I'm definitely eyeing these AOII ones.

Which pair of Krass & Co. shorts are your favorite? Let me know in the comments!

eShakti tunic (c/o) | C. Wonder shorts (similar) | Jack Rogers monogrammed sandals | Lilly Pulitzer crossbody bag | Kiel James Patrick anchor pearl bracelet | Kate Spade watch | Ray-Ban aviators

Celebrating the last day of summer and transitioning this classic tunic from eShakti into fall. I love the way it fits because eShakti is all about making their products to fit your shape. It was customized just the way I like it!

I styled it with white chino shorts and my monogrammed Jacks for a late summer look (#navyornothing), but I'll be wearing it with denim and riding boots if when Florida decides to chill.

P.S. check out eShakti on Facebook, Pinterest, & Twitter!

I'm taking a break from my usual outfit posts and addressing a little something I'd like to call Zebra Skirt Gate. Ahem.

After a flurry of messages from this little number, I couldn't help but laugh. A few internet friends decided that the skirt was a complete embarrassment. The outfit was indeed "tragic," wrote one anonymous user. Another just thought it was so "laughably bad." This isn't my first rodeo with hate mail, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

The skirt? Yeah, it's adventurous. It's neon green and has zebras on it (but different from zebra print, you feel me?). It's also caused a lot more controversy than I had anticipated.

What I thought when I got dressed: This skirt is kinda fun. I like it. No, wait. I might even love it. I'm going to wear it with this shirt and call it a day.

What haters thought: Why in the world would someone wear such an atrocious skirt? I feel so bad for her! Does she own a mirror? Or even a bit of style? I need to message her right away and alert her of her injustice upon humanity.

This resulted in a few not-so-nice messages. You might hate the skirt, too. It's okay. I'm not offended. I realize it's not everyone's style. However, spamming my inbox with a lengthy paragraph on how negatively you feel about it isn't going to change my mind. Hate mail senders, I don't care, and that just makes you look rude silly. Oops. Was that my outside voice?

So, friends, regardless of if you like the skirt, it's just a skirt. I like it. I'm keeping it and wearing it again. Gasp.

TSwift has the right idea. Haters are going to hate, and I'm just going to shake it off...in a skirt with zebras on it. Sorry not sorry. I am, however, sorry if you were one of the hate mail senders because I read them all to my family. We all had a good laugh, and then went back to our lives. You should probably do the same.

This zebra skirt needs no introduction...and it's the piece my wardrobe never knew it needed. It's just a party! I dressed it down with a t-shirt and a pair of ankle booties, but I can't wait to make it a little more glam around the holidays. #stripesonstripes

Charles River Pink Pullover (c/o) | Gap t-shirt (similar) | Lilly Pulitzer white jeans | Jack Rogers sandals (similar) | Kate Spade earrings (similar)

This Charles River pullover is absolutely perfect for the fall! Not only is it great for rainy days, which is basically every day in Florida, it's the perfect popover for colder days to layer. It's so warm, and I know it's going to be worn on repeat once the weather chills out. Plus, the monogram is adorable!

I paired it with white jeans and Jacks for a more summery look, but it could totally work with a pair of cute rain boots (like these Hunters!) and leggings for a casual rainy day. And, no bow no go, am I right??

Best part of it all? You can win matching pullovers for you and your bestie on my Instagram! Get all the details on how to enter on my account.

The Lilly Pulitzer Winter Park store recently got a makeover, and I stopped by this weekend to see it!  Their signature green door now has colorful hand-painted flowers, welcoming Lilly lovers to the store.

The checkout counter (aka "The Juice Stand") now features a cute pink and blue pineapple print and Lilly quote.

Now, for my favorite...the dressing rooms! My inner mermaid is still obsessing over the shell motif in this one.

This one includes the special Winter Park toile print, featuring landmarks of the town! It's absolutely gorgeous, and I want it on all the things. #LillyLovesWinterPark

I kind of want to live in the Pink Lemonade dressing room, though...I mean, it is my favorite print! So much so, I actually blended into the room (not even kidding).

While there, my bestie Sarah and I tried on these adorable shifts from the fall collection. Honestly, we didn't want to take them off!

The store also hosted a raffle for canvases from the Lilly Pulitzer Print Studio, each featuring a different Winter Park icon. Lucky me, I got to take home the Rollins print! Best. Day. Ever.

If you're in the area, make sure you stop by the store and see the new look for yourself! Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
