Hey y'all! I hope you enjoyed your weekend! I was stuck inside with a cold...but, it wasn't anything Vitamin C and soup couldn't fix. In any case, I've debated on writing this post for a while, just because I like to keep things light and fun usually here! This one, however, is a little more personal, but I hope you'll enjoy reading it nonetheless.

I've always struggled with comparing myself to others - and it's amplified every time I log onto social media. I scroll through feeds of "perfect pictures," people living glamorous lives in big cities doing amazing things...and it always makes me feel kind of icky. You know, that feeling where you're like "omg, she's #goals" or "wow...I wish my life looked like that!" Like, if I just had that thing she has, or looked like that, I would be happy!

I deal with this a LOT in blogging. I've been on the other end and receive very nasty messages because people are jealous of my life or my clothes, and it just brings a lot of ugly and negative vibes to my otherwise "happy place" blog. On the other hand, I understand where they're coming from, and feel so sad for them. I know I pick apart myself often, looking for my flaws and shortcomings, constantly comparing myself to those I follow or look up to as well. It's this never-ending competition.

I lose focus quickly and forget that God has a unique plan for my life. He's created me to be ME, and not anyone else. Psalm 139:14 tells us, "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." He created us all with a plan in mind (Jeremiah 29:11), and with that, we should focus on being more like Him instead of others (Psalm 105:4).

I stumbled across a video from Sadie Robertson talking about this topic exactly. It's so funny how God will place certain things that you need in the perfect moment! Watch her video below...

Amen! She nailed it. The next time I'm feeling jealous or envious and begin to pick out flaws in myself or others, I'm going to pray and focus on following God's plan for my life instead of worrying about what others are doing. True contentment comes from finding joy in living for God and not acceptance from the world!

Lilly Pulitzer dress // BCBG shoes (old, similar here and here) // Marley Lilly hat // Kate Spade watch (similar) and earrings (similar) // Buddy & Dash bangle (c/o)

Happy Friday, y'all! I'm stepping into the weekend with another colorful Lilly Pulitzer look...this time, with a fun flamingo printed shift and monogrammed floppy hat. What's better than pink flamingos and monograms? Right. Nothing. If there ever was an outfit for my personality, pretty sure this one would be the winner!

Lilly Pulitzer dress // Tory Burch sandals (similar) // Monogram necklace // Michael Kors watch (similar) // Alex and Ani bangles Rapunzel, Disney Initial (similar) and Hakuna Matata (sold out online) // MagicBand // Preppy Park Ears // Coffee cozy

It was another magical day at Disney! We hopped over to Hollywood Studios for a fun start to the week. I wore my latest favorite - this colorful Lilly Pulitzer dress - around the park. It was perfectly breezy and light to compensate for the hot, hot, hot Florida weather! Seriously though, expect to see this dress again. I've been wearing it on repeat because it's so comfy and cute (AND HAS POCKETS!!!). #sorrynotsorry

P.S. Yesterday was apparently National Let It Go Day, so my Elsa coffee cozy and iced Starbucks latte (yes, legit had the barista write Elsa on my drink...bc Disney World) are wildly appropriate. Win.

It's the best day of the year (next to Christmas and my birthday, of course!!) - National Wear Your Lilly Day! To celebrate the first day of summer, Lilly girls young and old break out their brightest Lilly pieces and welcome in the sunshine. I chose my all time favorite Lilly, my First Impression Raegan, for the occasion...even though I cheated and met up with my friend Emma beforehand for a Lilly-inspired shoot. Oops. If y'all have been with me for a while, she's the one who took my college senior photos last year - and she's amaze. Check out her work at Emma Shourds Photography!

P.S. Thanks to Emma Shourds Photography for such a fun shoot! Stay tuned for a few more surprise posts featuring her awesome work...

Dress Lilly Pulitzer (old, similar here and here) | Shoes Charles David (similar here) | Bag Lilly Pulitzer (similar) | Monogram Necklace PBTeen | Earrings Kendra Scott | Watch Kate Spade (similar and on SALE!) | Bracelets Kiel James Patrick, Buddy & Dash (c/o) and J.Crew (similar)

It's nearly the Fourth of July (can you believe it?!?!), so I threw on one of my favorite Lilly shifts to celebrate! It doesn't scream "America," but the colors are everything, amiright?

And...I've been getting a ton of requests to help you get ready for the best day ever (America's birthday, duh), so I put together a mini shopping guide with the most patriotic pieces I could find. You're welcome. ;)
