New Beginnings

There's no better time than the new year to start a new page. 2015 was a year of change for me. New location, new occupation, and new style. I think all the change has detached me from my blog a little, and I'm hoping to fix that this year.

Once I moved forward with the next chapter of my life, I put my blog on a slight hiatus. During the break, I stepped back, refocused and got a new perspective. Jumping back into my blog seemed near impossible - I no longer had the same amount of free time to dedicate to posts, nor did I have the resources available to make my posts look and feel how I wanted them to. I have a full-time job and full-time responsibilities.

Blogging about my outfits was the last thing I wanted to do with my free time...not to mention, I felt incredibly restricted in what I could post. I created this image in my head of what I should be posting about, what I should be wearing, or buying. Whatever it was, I wasn't doing enough in my mind compared to the rest of the bloggers I followed.

For that reason, I've decided to take Lucky Day in a different direction. What inspires me now is so much more than what I choose to wear every day. I'm inspired by my experiences, my life, my goals and my dreams. I want to share that with YOU and get away from that shallow, consumeristic style so many bloggers have fallen victim of. Don't get me wrong, I love clothes just as much, but I no longer want it to be my focus.

I want Lucky Day to be a space that is essentially an extension of me. I've grown a lot over the past six months, and I want Lucky Day to grow with me and reflect me as a person, as a single 23 year old with hopes and dreams and plans to change the world...one day!

So, I want to thank you for sticking with me. I want to let you know how much I appreciate you following along over the change and being so supportive of my endeavors, whatever those may be.

2016 is a blank canvas....and I can't wait to color it.

  3. While I always look forward to seeing your cute outfit posts, I think that making your blog more authentic to you is great! My favorite blogs to read are the real life ones anyway. Plus it's your blog, you get to decide what you want it to be!

  6. I LOVE that metaphor at the end about 2016 being a blank canvas! It's just such a positive way to look at the New Year and the pleasures that it will hold!

  9. I love this and I agree with you 100%! I truly hope you'll continue blogging in 2016. I'm so tired of seeing all those picture perfect people in clothes I could never afford. It's boring, really. I'm personally way more interested in real people and their style and thoughts.
