Blogging can really get to me sometimes. While I've been blogging since high school, it can be frustrating to see a ton of other people jump on the scene and receive almost instant success so quickly. It's so easy to start a blog and build a voice with social media nowadays, so for someone like me who has put in actual years of time and effort into my blog and content, it's easy to get upset too.

I'll be honest, it's no fun to see someone that you've helped start their blog receive more engagement than your own. I've been there many times, and it's really hard not to feel the slightest bit of jealousy towards their success.

ELLE posted a video with Chelsea Handler, and while I'm not a raging Chelsea Handler fan, I felt like she was speaking directly to me the entire time. Watch it below:

All in all, like she said, it's okay to feel jealous. That's human, and that's not something we can always control. However, we can control how we react to those feelings. Shift the focus from what everyone else is doing and start focusing on yourself and your journey. Trust me, I still struggle with this, but I'm finding the more I put things into perspective and refocus my energy towards my own matters, the less likely I am to feel down about myself and my work.

So, just because the blog next door landed a major partnership with a brand you love doesn't mean there's not something out there for you, too. The key is to remember to always be authentic, always be true to who you are, and you'll never have to worry about someone else coming along and stealing your show. There's a little bit of room for everyone, you just have to be patient and wait for your time to come.

Wearing: Soft & Sexy button back tank (c/o, seriously, the SOFTEST) // Denim X4 jegging (c/o) // Woven sandals (c/o) // Halter bralette (c/o) // similar necklace // similar bag

I can't believe summer is nearly over. It literally flew by! With many of you starting classes so soon, I teamed up with American Eagle and ShopStyle to inspire some of your back to school looks.

The look I chose is such a great transition from long summer days to hanging out on campus. A flowy tank, a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a pretty bralette is the perfect mix of bohemian and feminine, with a little bit of edge. Not to mention, these pieces are all incredibly versatile. When it gets colder, layer them with knit sweaters and utility jackets for a completely different look.

Whether you're headed back to school or just need a little wardrobe refresh like myself, American Eagle has the cutest (and comfiest) looks to fit so many different styles! I picked some of my favorite pieces for you to shop below :)

Since my feed has been plagued with ankle booties and blanket scarves because a certain retailer has so graciously marked down prices prior to the start of the "F" word season, I'd like to take a moment and share about something other than the #NSale. Don't get me wrong, the prices are pretty good, but geez, people. It's still July, I don't need to spend upwards of $1,000 on a wardrobe I can't wear for another 2 or 3 months (if I'm lucky).

I've been looking to downsize my current wardrobe, and this capsule wardrobe from Advice from a Twenty Something is exactly what I had in mind. While I'm definitely not purging to the point of 30 pieces, only, I do think it'd be nice to have a go-to set of items for everyday outfits, particularly for the office. I'm really diggin' the boho vibes. I'll be on the lookout for some to mix in with my workwear and help transition my closet back to something I love!

folders // desk lamp // pineapple trinket tray // magazine holder // box // washi tape // eraser

There's something about office supplies that just make my heart so happy. Growing up, my favorite thing about going back to school was shopping for supplies! My mom would hand my sister and me our lists, and we'd go crazy picking out new pens, pencils and folders. I guess that's why now I have a love affair with the office supply section at Target!

Since I spend most of my day at my desk in the office, and then come home to my new desk space, I'm always searching for cute little things to add to them! I absolutely adore the Sugar Paper line for Target, and the new products just released do not disappoint. Blush pink and gold? I'm sold.

P.S. I'm hosting a GIVEAWAY with XO Planners right now over on Insta! Enter now thru Friday!

Wearing | off the shoulder top (mine is c/o Curl Surf) // similar denim shorts (also c/o Curl Surf) // Jack Rogers sandals // Ray-Ban aviators // similar horseshoe necklace

Serious case of the Monday's over here, but thankfully, this weekend was super chill. As in, I actually got to sleep in and enjoy a Toy Story movie marathon on TV. It was awesome.

In other news...how 'bout that new look?? When I said my style changed, I wasn't joking. I went all out, and there's still a few more surprises to come! I've been researching site design for a few months now and finally landed on this clean, minimalistic approach. I am LOVING it!

In the meantime, I'd love to hear what you think about the new site. I mean, it's just way too pretty. And, the best part? It works on mobile! Score. Let me know whatcha think in a comment below!

Wearing | SheIn romper (c/o) // similar Steve Madden wedges (c/o Zappos) // Kendra Scott necklace // Sloane Ranger clutch (c/o)

It's funny to look back through my blog and see how much my style has evolved, even just within the past year! My life has changed so much from where I was a year ago, and so it was only natural for my style to change with it. It's crazy to think that I'm already renewing my lease on my apartment and will be celebrating one year at my job next month. Time flies!

If there's anything I've learned about life within the past year, is that it's always changing. Embracing that change is key; I'm always really reluctant to it because change brings unfamiliarity. However, in terms of my personal style, I've been happier being able to try new things and mix it up every once in a while, while still staying true to me as an individual.

So far, I've loved where it's going and am enjoying the journey. As my mom would say, there's never a dull moment! :)

I had high hopes for Finding Dory, mainly because Finding Nemo is a classic Pixar favorite, and there's always that slight skepticism that the sequel won't live up to the original. Not this time! Finding Dory is easily one of the best films I've seen all year - you've GOT to see it. I seriously could not stop aw-ing over the whole thing.

Plus, the whole thing is just too pretty. Like, so much blue. I felt completely inspired, so I threw together some of my favorite Dory-esque pieces for ya.

Just Keep Swimming

Lilly Pulitzer two-piece set // Shell necklace // Tassel earrings // Finding Dory socks // Shell phone case // Essie nail polish // Sunglasses // Just Keep Swimming MantraBand // Finding Dory coffee mug

I'll take one of each, please and thank you! #JustKeepSwimming

Probably one of the most frequently asked questions I get is, "How do I start a blog?" Well, good question. It seems like with the rise of Instagram and Snapchat, everyone and their mother has a blog. But, for good reason. Blogging allows us to share our lives online and connect with others in the process. It's a great outlet to be inspired, to share inspiration, and embrace our passion.

Hey friends! Happy Friday!! Hopefully, you've got a nice three-day weekend ahead with friends and family. I'll be spending mine chilling out - much needed downtime after this crazy week I had.

I rounded up some favorite finds under $50 for you - all found on Nordstrom Rack! If you're not shopping there, you're missing out. I stumbled upon it recently after finding this romper, and the deals are cray.

They're a great resource for those trendy, Instagram blogger looks without the $200 price tag. If you're looking to switch up your summer wardrobe before fall hits, this is a great place to do so!

P.S. I also added a new tab on the blog! "Shop My Instagram" will include my Instagram outfits and links to what I'm wearing or similar styles, no pesky email sign-ups required. Pop over and let me know what you think!
