2016 was a year of growth for me personally, spiritually, professionally, and creatively. I took lots of time off from blogging to enjoy life a little more. Instead of worrying about my next post, I aimed to post only when I felt inspired, and boy, has it made a huge difference!

I used to put so much pressure on myself for no reason to try to keep up with trends and the Joneses of the blogging world - it was miserable! I now find myself going back to the reason why I started blogging - to share my life and style in my own space. Just doin' my own thang, you know?

My style has changed a lot too, undoubtedly because of that as well. Instead of trying to keep up with the "blogger look," I'm more choosey with what I invest in and am definitely more selective when shopping. I buy what I like, despite what's "in" or "out" at the moment. I feel so much more confident when I am wearing something that I love, versus what someone else is telling me I should wear. I still keep up with trends, I'm not denying that, but I incorporate them based on what fits me and my lifestyle.

I'm really looking forward to 2017 and all the changes it brings, too. I know God's got some good ones ahead, just gotta take it one day at a time! :)

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!! Mine was one of the best yet - I loved getting to spend some time with my family. There's nothing quite like waking up on Christmas morning to presents from Santa, mom making breakfast and the Disney Christmas parade on tv. It's my favorite!

I wanted to do a little Christmas haul to share a few of the gifts I received. Seriously, Santa outdid himself this year! ;) My favorite gift by far is my new camera - I can't wait to start snappin' pics with it!
