I've got some exciting news to share with y'all - I'm officially the new head of Public Relations for Krass & Co.! Krass & Co. is this awesome clothing company that makes athletic apparel for men & women that's a little more, dare I say, classy.

As an avid Norts (Nike shorts) wearer, I'm a fan of anything that is acceptable to wear to class, the gym, or to run errands. So, when I met Norts's preppy cousin from Krass & Co., my inner sorority girl went crazy. Krass & Co.'s women's collection features both embroidered and printed versions featuring nautical motifs so you can say goodbye to those paint-splatter running shorts and say hello to sailboats.

Yes, sailboats. Need I say more? You can pre-order these preppy shorts right now on the site and use code "SRAT20" for 20% off. You're welcome.

And even more exciting news...I'll be hosting a giveaway next week where you could win a pair of these from Krass & Co.! You're welcome, again.

Click over to the site and let me know which pair of Krass & Co. shorts are your favorite!

P.S. Congrats to Rabikah for winning the My Pink and Green Garden giveaway!!

The first stop in my guide of Summer Essentials is sunglasses's bestie croakies.

Say what? Okay, the modern world refers to them as sunglass straps but I've been calling them croakies for as long as I can remember. Cute and functional, these little creations keep your sunglasses from plummeting to doom when you look down and give them a place to rest when you're not wearing them.

Below, I've rounded up my top five picks to share with you!
At the tippy-top of my list is my absolute favorite croakies - Lilly Pulitzer! Made for the Lilly girl at heart, these boast a fun Lilly print on one side and a cute quote on the inside. I have a pair in Lucky Charms ("Social Butterfly") and it suits me well!

Nothing says summer quite like these Vineyard Vines sunglass straps featuring their "Every day should feel this good" motto. Bonus points for the tiny pink whale!

If you prefer to keep your croakies on the classy side, try ProperKidProblems's "The Proper Life" sunglass straps. #StayClassy and cool in the midst of summer!

Definitely my new favorite find, CottonSnaps offers a variety of sunglass straps for every taste. I can't resist these seersucker ones!

Last but certainly not least, I found these too fab for words monogrammed sunglass straps on Etsy! Chevron + monograms + fun colors = instant win.

If you click on "Shop My Closet" in my tabs above, you are taken to a site called Poshmark. Poshmark is a wonderful little app I discovered just in time for spring cleaning.

So far, my experience with this app has been extremely positive in both buying and selling. If you're new to Poshmark, this will serve as a guide to get started!

What I L-O-V-E

  • Free download + no listing fees! - eBay is great, but it's also slightly confusing, especially for someone like me who just wants to recycle her favorite things. The Poshmark app is free and there are no listing fees, so you can list as much as you want. To list, simply snap a few pictures and upload them directly to Poshmark.
  • Easy to use - Poshmark has a great FAQ's section and explains everything up front so you're not confused halfway through your sale.
  • Shipping is included (for sellers) - When you sell an item, Poshmark automatically creates a shipping label and sends it directly to your email. All you have to do is print it out and tape it to your package! The labels are good for items up to 2 lbs. Any more than that costs extra for shipping.
  • DEALS DEALS DEALS! - Who doesn't love finding awesome deals? With a bit of searching, designer items can be found at a fraction of the original price.

And Why I Say "Ehh..."

  • Poshmark fees - For sellers, this means 20% of all sales goes to PM. The good news is that they tell you this price up front. When you list your item, you can enter the listing price and PM tells you how much you'll make from the sale.
  • Shipping costs - If you're buying on Poshmark, you pay for the shipping. $4.99 for orders $25+ and $6.99 for other orders.
  • Balance - Once you sell something on PM, it goes into your "Pending Balance." However, the money is only accessible after the customer accepts the order (or 72 hours after the item is delivered.) From your "Available Balance," you can transfer to your bank account or request a check. I don't like either of these options because I don't like giving out my bank account information and checks can take a while to receive. The only other option is to contact Poshmark support and they will deposit your current balance into your Paypal account, which is what I opted for.

Purchases

Now, for the fun part! I've made a total of two purchases from Poshmark - both Lilly Pulitzer finds.

I found this adorable Lilly Pulitzer cosmetic for $15 (plus $6.99 shipping). Originally a GWP (gift with purchase) from the Lilly Pulitzer for Estee Lauder collection, I love the zip around style and cute patchwork print. Plus, the size is perfect to fit all of my makeup for my daily routine. I purchased it in "like new" condition. The plastic wrap was even still on the mirror and zippers when I received it.

Most. Exciting. Purchase. Ever. I found my dream Lilly Pulitzer bag for only $32 (plus $4.99 shipping). Originally a GWP, I was dying when I found out that you had to spend $500 to get the tote. I've searched high and low on eBay and Lilly resale sites, and they all ranged from $80-$100. Definitely a steal!

TIPS

For Sellers

  • Be honest! If there's a spot/flaw on an item you're selling, don't try to hide it. If a potential buyer asks for pictures, post them! It's better to be upfront about it than to have an unhappy buyer (that may or may not notify Poshmark and can jeopardize your selling abilities!)
  • Bundles are your best friend. Not only does the buyer save on shipping costs, but you get rid of multiple items in one go! Many Poshers (Poshmark members) offer discounts for certain bundles.
  • Spend extra time on your pictures for listings. The Poshmark often centers the picture at a weird angle. I upload my own and add filters and text to make my listings stand out!
  • Follow up with likes and comments! Most of the sales I've made are from me being accessible when the buyer likes or comments.
  • Be flexible. Be willing to negotiate prices on items, especially if they're used.

For Buyers

  • Ask questions! Don't be afraid to ask for more pictures, item descriptions, or any other questions you may have on an item.
  • Know what you're buying. I know it's time consuming, but it will save you a lot of heartbreak if you do research up front. Search eBay and other Poshmark closets before settling on an item to make sure you're getting the best deal and quality!
  • Make offers! Many sellers are flexible when it comes to price. Don't be afraid to make an offer and see if you can get the price down a little bit.
  • Don't forget about shipping fees! Remember when you're buying that you also have to pay for shipping, so that $10 cosmetic turns into a $16.99 purchase after shipping is added.
  • Search, search, search! Poshmark is great because it takes the work out of thrifting. Search for your favorite brands, styles, and sizes all in one place!

Happy *almost* Wear Your Lilly Day! True Lilly girls already know that June 21 is not just the first day of summer - it's also National Wear Your Lilly Day! This preppy holiday gives Lilly lovers a chance to break out their favorite Lilly shift and celebrate the barefoot queen of pink and green.
This year, I wanted to make it extra special, and so I thought, what better way to celebrate than to throw Lilly-themed party??

I've listed some of my favorite ideas below for a colorful party inspired by all things Lilly Pulitzer. You can also check out my "Life's A Party" Pinterest board for more ideas!

Lilly Pulitzer Party Pom Poms
Start the party with these cute party pom poms hanging from the ceiling.

via Southern Vogue
Southern Vogue knows how to throw a Lilly party the right way! Get inspired by her Lilly bow tie napkins and pink place settings. Lilly tumblers complete the look.

via Southern Vogue
I also love that Southern Vogue sent guests home with a framed Lilly 5x5 print, an easily personalized party favor that any Lilly girl would love!

via Southern Weddings
No Lilly party is complete without equally bright treats! Serve popsicles and glasses of "Lilly Lemonade" for guests to enjoy on a hot summer day.

via Etsy
Dessert couldn't be cuter with Lilly-inspired shift cookies! You could even have guests decorate their own with frosting and sprinkles to match their dress as a party activity.

via Southern Living
Opt for a colorful tablecloth (bonus points for Lilly fabric!), fresh flowers, and fun centerpieces for the table. I love the pink flamingos set on this one.

And always remember: Life's a Party, Dress Like It! Add some flair to your fete with a cute Lilly inspired canvas (hand-painted by yours truly <3).

Boy, oh boy! I obviously have a thing for patterned pants...but these are just perfection! With a sale price of $39 (originally $158), they're absolutely irresistible. But, actually.
